| Mechanical vs. Electric gauges? Which is better? |
| Here's a good article from Auto Meter with the advantages and disadvantages of each type of gauge. |
| I need an installation guide, can I find one online? |
| We have installation guides for VDO, Auto Meter, Classic Instruments and ISSPRO online. |
| Will a 2 inch gauge fit in a 2 1/16 inch mount, or vise-versa |
| Yes, the mounts and gauges work together, although in rare instances you may need to file out the mount a bit to get a good fit. The Classic Intruments 2 1/8" gauges can also usually be used, although it may take a bit more filing. |

| Why does my temperature gauge read high? |
| Isolate your ground (wire) on the temperature gauge |
| Why does my temperature gauge jump when I turn on my air conditioner, headlights, or turn signal? |
| Isolate your ground (wire) on the temperature gauge |
| Should I use sealant or Teflon tape on the threads of my sender? |
| Do not use sealant (including Teflon tape or plumbers pipe dope) on the threads of temperature or pressure senders. This will not allow the sender to properly ground itself to the engine and will cause the temperature to register high and the pressure to register low. This does not include floating ground senders which include a second terminal specifically for grounding. |

| Do you sell gauges with metric readings? |
| Several of the gauges on our site have metric readings. Some pressure gauges are in Bars, temperature gauges in Celcius, etc… VDO Cockpit Series, Industrial Black and Industrial Chrome have the best selection of metric gauges. |
| Do you sell replacement gauges for my vehicle? I need something that will fit in the place of the original gauge. |
| We do not have replacement gauges that fit in most original instrument panels. The gauges we sell normally fit in round 2 1/16", 2 5/8", 3 1/8", or 3 3/8", 4 3/4" or 5" holes or mounts. To use these gauges in most stock instrument panels would require you to do significant modifications to your dash. |
| Do you sell combination gauges? For example, oil pressure and coolant temperature in one gauge? Or a Speedometer / Tachometer Combination Gauge? |
| Our gauge series from Classic Instruments offer Dual (Fuel Level / Pressure or Temp / Volt) and Quad cluster gauges. VDO only offers a few combination gauges in the VDO Marine Vanguard Series (12 and 24 volt) which can be used in automotive applications. We have SpeedTach Combinations from Classic Instruments and Cyberdyne. Auto Meter and ISSPRO do not offer combination gauges. |
